January 23, 1865 Report of the Paymaster of Virginia regarding the deceased soldier's claims, submitted to the governor of the Virginia. Of note the
report indicated the large percentage of improperly filed claims, and recommended use of a guide book from Alabama regarding the proper procedure,
although said pamphlet is not included in this document. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Boston Athenaeum).
