1823 Memorial of the Convention held in Washington, D.C., concerning the Potowmac (Potomac) River navigation. Various delegates from Virginia,
Maryland, Pennsylvania and D.C. met on November 6, 1823 regarding the goal of connection to a canal to the navigable rivers of the west. After an
examination of various information, the committee fully supported the need for same, and submitted a number of resolutions regarding the necessary procedure
