1838 Plaintiffs' papers in the case In re Judge (John) Scott, submitted to the General Assembly of Virginia. These papers alleged that the judge
acted improperly in various cases. Of note, on page 23, there were interrogatories propounded by John Scott to Robert E. Lee, who had served as a
plaintiff's attorney in Motter v. Ward, and appeared to have supported the judge's actions in that case. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title
