1796 Manuscript petition of the Bar and River Pilots of Cape Fear River to the General Assembly, requesting a fair distribution of allowances for the
pilotages as those in
Charleston and Georgetown. The pilots further complained that they were only given ten shillings as compared to the others'
rate of a dollar and eight shillings. A table supporting this claim was also attached to the petition. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles
