1859 Joint Standing Committee on the Deaf, Dumb, and Blind Asylum, which performed a review of the institution. Of note, the committee was pleased
with the school, although the members recommended that a bill should be passed to clarify when students were "charity," and when they should pay. The
committee also supported the need to expand the facilities, as well as providing more resources for these "unfortunate deaf, dumb and blind."
