1854 House bill to incorporate the Wilmington & Charlotte Railroad Company to construct a railroad between those two cities by way of Lumberton,
Rockingham, Wadesborough, and Monroe. The bill provided for the subscription and corporate procedures, as well as all management and other relevant
construction and corporate matters. Also included were provisions for compensation for land used to construct the railroad and penalties for damaging
