1852 Senate bill authorizing and establishing the business in banking. Included in the provisions were a provision that required the comptroller to
engrave and print banknotes, and the registration of same; a tax to banks organized under the act; as well as other banking and stock related
matters. Of note, banknotes were dollar denominated promises to pay specie to the bearer on demand. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of titles originally
