Governor. Transmitting report of Prof. Mitchell on turnpike from Raleigh, west, 1846
Message of December 3, 1846 from North Carolina Governor William A. Graham, transmitting a report by an engineer, E. Mitchell, on the creation of a
turnpike from Raleigh west to the Buncombe Turnpike and continuing to the Georgia state line. The report discussed the necessity of the turnpike, and
contained a survey of the proposed route. There was also an additional report on the turnpike route west from Raleigh to Fayetteville. (Digitized
from a microfilm copy of titles originally held by the Library of Congress).
