January 21, 1836 Senate Resolution regarding the interference of Northern states with the domestic slavery in the South. Included were resolutions
that Congress had no constitutional power to abolish slavery in the District of Columbia or the territories of the United States, as well as requesting
criminal penalties for abolitionist actions calculated to cause the "insurrection and revolt" of Southern slaves. (Digitized from a microfilm copy
