February 21, 1781 Act to prevent people from acting with traitorous designs against the state of Connecticut. The act permitted the military to seize and court martial or deliver to the civil authority for trial. See LLMC #20414 for a related document. At a General Assembly of the governor and company of the state of Connecticut, holden at Hartford, (by special order of His Excellency the governor) on the 21st day of February, A.D. 1781. : an act for the more effectually preventing inimical persons in executing their traiterous designs against this state ; and for the more speedy trial and punishing of such persons who may be guilty of treasonable practices against this and the United States.
