1842, Western Rail-road Corporation. Report of salaries and compensation
|
|
Senate No. 59 On February 12, 1842, the Directors of the Western Rail-road Corporation were directed to send a financial report focused on compensation. On February 19, 1842, the Directors sent the report. They assumed the Legislature was more interested in compensation of officers and directors, rather than the rank and file. No one was aware of any bonuses or other extra compensation. There was a short list of officers' compensation in 1840 and 1841. The Chief Engineer sent one and one half pages for his people, there was a list of Directors' service compensation, a few expense payments, and two and a half pages of damages that had been paid since the cars started running in 1840. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
