1836, Proprietors of the Charles River Bridge. Protest and remonstrance
Senate No. 83 On April 2, 1836, the Proprietors of the Charles River Bridge registered a protest and a remonstrance versus the several act of the
Legislature. Their document gave a history of their bridge and its tolls for nine pages. By making the Warren Bridge free, the Legislature had
violated the Charles River Bridge's charter. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
