1777-11-25/12-13, Various correspondence
|
|
Various correspondence between November 25 and December 13, 1777 regarding battles, specifically the battle of Ticonderoga. Of note, in the letter dated December 10, 1777, an American officer mocked Howe and his imaginings that that the "shivering, half naked defenders of liberty" would easy give up; finding his strategy ineffectual, he decided "to retire to peaceful winter quarters." (Digitized from a microfilm copy of a title originally held by the Massachusetts Historical Society Library).
