Description and Holding Information
1841-42, People's Convention. Article on education (MS)
Article on Education for the People's Convention of 1841-42, with minor corrections. Of note, this was part of the unsanctioned "Dorr Rebellion,"
when middle-class residents sought to significantly reduce the property requirements for voting. Led by Thomas Wilson Dorr, this attempt to change the
constitution and a subsequent armed rebellion were unsuccessful, but they ultimately led to a new constitution which liberalized voting rights.
