1832-03-20, Summary of Governor of Maine's letter to Gov. Lincoln
House No. 58 On March 20, 1832, Governor Lincoln passed along a letter he had received from Governor Smith of Maine demanding the entire sum of a
third of the militia settlement without any deduction for the expenses of collection. The Governor challenged this approach and sent Governor Smith an
account sheet from the settlement paperwork. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Massachusetts State Library).
