October 24, 1775 letter form General George Washington, at camp in Cambridge, to Deputy Gov. Nicholas Cooke, in Providence, Rhode Island. In this letter Washington provided information regarding the bombardment and burning of Falmouth (present day Portland, Maine) in retaliation for supporting the patriots' actions.
