September 6, 1776 broadside issued by Governor Jonathan Trumbull of Connecticut, proclaiming September 19th as a day of fasting and prayer to defend
the colonists against Great Britain. Of note, this is the first use of "the State of Connecticut" in the proclamation by the governor. (Digitized
