October 29, 1765 House resolves which included that the inhabitants of the Province of Massachusetts Bay are "unalienably entitled" to the same essential rights as all men and that no law can divest them of these rights. Also included was the resolve that only this General Assembly might impose taxes on the inhabitants. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of a title originally held by the Massachusetts Historical Society Library (c.1), and the American Antiquarian Society Library in Worcester, Massachusetts (c.2)).

Martis, 29 die Octobris, A.D. 1765. In the House of Representatives : According to the order of the day ... ordered, that all the foregoing resolves be kept in the records of this House ; that a just sense of liberty, and the firm sentiments of loyalty may be transmitted to posterity.
