It provides historical explanations and describes the legislative activities of the Roman Senate, the Constitutions of the Emperors, legal instruction before and after Justinian, and the legislation of Justinian. A Table of Contents is located at the beginning of the volume. The author, a barrister-at-law of Lincoln's Inn, wrote extensively on Roman Law.)
