1924. ( The clemency review file of Hezekiah Turner, a Private in the 24th Infantry, who was accused of willful disobedience of an order, mutiny,
murder of 14 persons, and assault with intent to kill 8 persons in connection with the race riots in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1917. He received a
sentence of 18 years and 9 months which was reduced from life. On October 6, 1924 the Board of Parole granted parole and the Judge Advocate General
notified the Adjutant General. The file contains the Report of the Clemency Board, the Review of the Record of the Trial, and a personal statement from the
prisoner to the Clemency Board.)
