Thomas, Henry. Review of trial record, 1919
Review of the Trial Record of Henry Thomas: April 5th, 1919, 3 p., typed, April 5, 1919. ( The review of the trial record of Private Henry Thomas of
Company L of the 24th Infantry, who was charged and tried jointly with 39 others for willful disobedience of an order, mutiny, murder of 14 persons,
and assault with intent to kill 8 persons. These charges were in connection with the race riots in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1917. The review of the
trial record provides a summary of the evidence. The assistant to the Judge Advocate General found there was sufficient evidence to support a finding
of disobeying an order, but insufficient to support the conviction of mutiny. He recommended reducing the period of confinement imposed by the court
from 15 years to two years.)
