willful disobedience of orders, mutiny, murder, and assault with intent to kill for his role in the race riots in Houston, Texas on August 23, 1917. He
was sentenced to life in prison which was later reduced to 23 years. His request for clemency was denied by the Adjutant General's Office on August
21, 1931.)
