This dictionary is based on the recently enacted revision of the Code of canon law which was issued in 1917. From the preface, the author views this
work not only as a dictionary but also as a sort of digest of the Code of canon law. “It contains all that the average priest should know, more than
our Sisterhoods need to know, and much that will interest the laity on the laws of the church.” Reference is made to canon, paragraph and number in
the Code. A topical index begins on p.235.
