Charles Jenkinson n.a., Vols. 1–3, London, printed for J. De Brett, 1785. (Since the name of the compiler is not given in the text, this work is popularly named after its publisher, De Brett. The books are arranged chronologically: Vol. 1 covers 1648-1713, Vol. 2, covers 1713-1748, & Vol. 3 covers 1750-1784. A chronological table of contents for the materials contained in the volume appears at the front of each volume. There is no index to the whole. The reprint of the essay by Jenkinson appears in the second Roman numeral series, i-xlviii, at the front of Vol. 1. The essay was written in 1757, in Jenkinson’s relative youth and before he began his parliamentary career, long before he became British Secretary of War during the American Revolution and later 1st Earl of Liverpool.)
