Past and present efforts for the extinction of the African slave trade: by William Rathbone Greg, 6+99p., London, Ridgway, 1840. (A work by English essayist William R. Greg in which he documents the history of the slave trade and argues that the only way to abolish the slave trade is to provide cheap free labor. He suggests this could be done by extensive immigration and temporarily continuing the duties on sugar and coffee. There are numerous references to letters, statistics, and treatises.)
