Reports of cases determined in the Court of Sudder Dewany Adawlut; With tables of the names of the cases and principal matters: by W.H. Macnaghten,
V.1–7, Calcutta, Bishop's College Press, 1827, for v.1-3, and Bengal Military Orphan Press, 1834–42, for v.4–7. (Title varies slightly through the
series. While the series bears his name, Macnaghten is the recorder for Vol. 2–3 only. The recorders for Vol. 3–7 are anonymous. Macnaghten serves as
editor for Vol. 1, which alone in the series has the added notation “A New Edition.” This is explained in a preface as follows: the reports in Vol. 1
“were chiefly prepared by Mr. W. Dorin ... formerly reporter to those courts. Some few of the cases, toward the latter end of the volume, were prepared
by Messrs. Bird and Holt Mackenzie.” LLMC has not established whether a published copy of the earlier Dorin work exists. Vol. 7 of this series was
apparently not completed, being issued in two pamphlets {66 & 20pp} in 1842, with the first identified as Part 1, and the second having no part
identification, but a change in title to Reports of Summary Cases.)
