Haiti; Enquête parlementaire sur les emprunkts du gouvernement domingue: n.a., Vol. 1-2, (composite work with title pages and many of the separate pamphlets by New York, Typographie Sears & Cole, 1877), all published. (The “revolution” alluded to passim seems to be an internal insurrection centered in Jacmel which began sometime prior to 1876, and which was put down in that year. All reprinted documents provided in the various parts are dated between 1875 and 1877. The government loans with which the parliamentary inquiry is concerned appear to have been incurred during the insurrection by the winning party from sources mainly in France. The bespoke title is found only on the spines, likely added by binder. The legends “Vol. 1” & “Vol. 2” have been added in pencil respectively to the first title page appearing in each book. The assembled materials each appear to have been issued initially separately in pamphlet format with paper covers (or in some cases no cover at all), with separate pagination, and bound later into these two books by Columbia.
