volumes by the Clarendon Press (Oxford 1905). Vol. 1 (xviii + 335 p.) includes the editor’s introduction; and sections on: 1789 up to the fall of the
Bastille; to the end of 1789; the year 1790 to the Federation of July 14; and to the end of 1790; 1791 to the death of Mirabeau. Vol. 2 (iv + 297 p.)
includes sections on 1791 from the death of Mirabeau to the flight to Varennes; the flight to Varennes; the “massacre” of the Champ de Mars; and from July
1791 to the end of the Constituent; with Appendixes containing Laws adopted during the revolutionary period; biographical notes; a list of works
referred to; and a general index. Historical documents are published in French; editorial and biographical notes are in English.
