Contents include the transmittal letter by Secretary James Barbour (dated Feb. 1, 1826) and 48 documents, mostly correspondence, produced in response to
the House resolution calling for “instructions to the Commissioners for negotiating the treaty with the Florida Indians; the extent of the reserves made
to certain Chiefs; the amount of money paid under the treaty; the objects for which it was paid; the present situation of the Indians; and the
complaints, if any, against the said treaty; with any other information … touching the condition of the Florida Indians at this time.”
