Barrow, Alaska. 2 + 11 + 10 p. Contents of this typewritten manuscript include a memorandum from Irwin W. Silverman, Chief Council, Division of
Territories and Island Possessions, to the Secretary of the Interior (December 2, 1946), with “my reports of hearings on proposed native reservations of
Klukwan and Barrow, at which I presided pursuant to your direction. Public Land Order No. 324, of August 22, 1946, withdrew certain lands at Barrow and
Klukwan for classification and proposed designation as reservations, and notice of public hearings to be held in September on the withdrawal was published
in the Federal Register.” Also included are reports titled Proposed Native Reservation for the Inhabitants of Klukwan and Proposed Native Reservation
for the Inhabitants of the Village of Barrow; each report contains a statement of facts, analysis and recommendations.
