Treaty between the United States and the Mississippi Chippewa Indians. The document includes a proclamation by President Franklin Pierce, the text of
the treaty (concluded February 22, 1855), a list of signatories and witnesses, a statement by the Senate giving advice and consent to the treaty and
a statement of ratification by the President (both dated March 3, 1855). (In this treaty, three bands of Ojibwa Indians (viz. Mississippi, Pillager
and Lank Winnibigoshish) ceded to the United States lands owned or claimed by them within the Territory of Minnesota.)
