Articles of a Treaty between the United States and the Nation of Winnebaygo Indians, August 1, 1829, 7 Stat. 323-325. ( Articles of a Treaty between
the United States and the Nation of Winnebago Indians in which the Indians cede the land described in Article I of the treaty. The Indians were to
receive $18,000 in specie annually for thirty years. This sum was to be paid to the Indians at Prairie du Chien and Fort Winnebaygo in proportion to the
number of Indians residing within a convenient distance of each place. The United States also agreed to deliver $30,000 in goods at the time of
signing. The treaty was concluded at Prairie du Chien in the Michigan Territory on August 1, 1829.)
Title:   Articles of a treaty made and concluded at the village of Prairie du Chien, Michigan Territory, on this first day of August, in the year one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine : between the United States of America, by their commissionsers, General John M'Niel, Colonel Pierre Menard, and Caleb Atwater, Esq., for and on behalf of said states, of the one part, and the Nation of Winnebaygo Indians of the other part.
