( Articles of Agreement between the United States and the Winnebago Tribe and the United Tribes of Potawatomi, Chippewa, and Ottawa Indians. The Indians were to meet with representatives from the United States, however because the Tribes were so dispersed, provisional boundaries are described in Article 1 of this agreement. The Indians are to receive $20,000 in goods as compensation for the damages they sustained by the occupation of their mining country by white settlers. The agreement was concluded at Green Bay in the Michigan Territory on August 25, 1828.)
