Articles of a Treaty between the United States and the Miami Tribe of Indians, October 23, 1834, 7 Stat. 458-462. ( Articles of a Treaty between the
United States and the Miami Tribe of Indians. The Indians ceded to the United States the land described in Article 1. In consideration the U.S. agreed
to pay the Miami Tribe of Indians $208,000. $58,000 of this amount was to be paid in goods. A schedule of grants referred to in Article 3 listing
names of those to receive land appears on pages 460-461. President Andrew Jackson did not approve the treaty and the Indians were required to assent to
certain modifications. The Senate consented to the ratification of a redrafted treaty on October 12, 1837. This appears at 7 Stat. 463-466.)
