Treaty with the Maha Tribe, October 6, 1825, 7 Stat. 282-284. (Treaty between the United States and the Maha (now known as Omaha) Tribe of Indians. The Indians were taken under the protection of the United States and acknowledge its supremacy. The agents of the President are to designate places for trade and only American citizens authorized by the U.S. are admitted to trade or hold intercourse with members of the Maha Tribe. The treaty was concluded at Fort Atkinson at Council Bluffs on October 6, 1825.)
