Articles of a Treaty between the United States and the Winnebago Nation of Indians, November 1, 1837, 7 Stat. 544-546. ( Articles of a Treaty between
the United States and the Winnebago Nation of Indians in which the Indians cede to the United States all their land east of the Mississippi River.
The Indians agree to move within eight months to neutral ground west of the Mississippi River conveyed to them by Article 2 of the Treaty of September
21, 1832 , 7 Stat. 374 ( LLMC 69911). Article 3 lists how the $200,000 the Indians are to receive should be dispersed. The balance of the proceeds was
to be invested in order to guaranty the Indians an annual income of not less than 5% from the investment. The treaty was concluded in the City of
Washington on November 1, 1837.)
