Articles of a Treaty between the United States and the Chippewa, Menomonie, and Winebago Tribes. The southern boundary of the Chippewa, which was left
undefined by the Treaty of Prairie des Chiens, 7 Stat. 272 (LLMC 69881), was settled. The conflict between the Menomonie and Winnebago was referred to the
President of the United States. As consideration for agreeing to the boundaries $15,682 in goods were given to the Indians. They will also receive an
annual appropriation of $1,000 for three years, and $1,500 annually thereafter for the education of the children of the tribes. The treaty was
concluded at the Butte de Morts on the Fox River in the Michigan Territory on August 11, 1827.)
