Should Lord Durham be impeached?: by Freeholder, 28p., London, Printed for Sherwood, Gilbert & Piper, 1839. (As part of his appointment as Governor-General of Upper and Lower Canada, Lord Durham was charged with the investigation into the causes of the rebellions in these provinces during 1838. This publication is a response to Lord Durham’s report entitled: Report on the Affairs of British North America. His decisions regarding the rebellions angered the Prime Minister. As a consequence, Lord Durham resigned on October 9, 1838. The author argues the Governor-General should have been impeached.)
