A History of English Law, by W. S. Holdsworth. Third Edition, Rewritten. Published by Little, Brown and Company (Boston 1922-1926). The original set of this edition was published in nine volumes. Volumes include separate tables of contents, lists of cases and statutes, appendices and indexes. From the Preface to the vol. 9: “These Nine volumes contain a history of the sources and general development of English Law down to 1700.” (Subsequent volumes were published from 1938-1972, continued by other editors, and covering years subsequent to 1700. At the time of this writeup, volumes 10-17 were not available.)
