Letter from Robert Dinwiddie of Williamsburg to Governor Morris of Pennsylvania, January 2, 1756. He congratulated Morris on the Assembly finally
providing funds for attacks. Dinwiddie was ready to join the spring offensive. His government had talked to the Cherokee and the Catawbas, both of
which promised to ally with the English. He thought peace was unlikely--both sides were in too deep. Many refugees had come from Nova Scotia. He
thought Pennsylvania's militia law was too weak and would cause trouble during actual fighting. He anxiously awaited information about the spring
