Description and Holding Information
1755 A brief narrative of the incursions of the French and Indians in the Province of Pennsylvania (MS)
Wrapper and header are the same: A brief narrative of the incursions and ravages of the French Indians in the Province of Pennsylvania. 31 December
1755. The trouble began on October 18, 1755, with the destruction of Mahanahy and its people. There were five more attacks by the end of the year.
There were always killings and kidnappings, with houses and outbuildings burned and all animals either killed or driven away. The French had built on
their big win over General Braddock by turning the Indians loose on the settlements. (Digitized from a microfilm copy held at the Pennsylvania
State Historical Society)
