1755, List of officers present, killed, wounded in action on the banks of the Monongahela, July 8, 1755 (MS)
SEE ALSO 56674, 56675 Wrapper: Copy A list of the officers present, killed, and wounded at the late battle near the Mohongiala [sic] July 1755
[illegible] examined by Richard Peters, Secy. 28 July 1755. Header: A list of the officers who were present and of those killed and wounded in the
action on the banks of the Monongahela the 9th day of July 1755. Staff: General Braddock died of his wounds; of the seven others, one was killed and
four were wounded. George Washington and one other man escaped injury. There were similar lists for the 44th Regiment, the 48th Regiment,
Artillerymen, Engineers, Sailors, New Yorkers and Virginians. The compiler thought 600 men were killed or wounded, so that must have included ground troops.
