Forty-fourth Legislature. Senate. No. 28. The Joint Select Committee to Visit the Cony U.S. General Hospital reported that the hospital in Augusta was in a good location with pleasant grounds. There were 28 wooden buildings; there was further description of the physical plant. There were fifty male and twelve female nurses for 800 patients. A Resolve: the Governor would encourage the federal government to enlarge the hospital. The appendix gave detailed measurements for the buildings.
