Senate. Act for the relief of insolvent debtors, 1858
|
|
Thirty-seventh Legislature. Senate. No. 10 An Act for the relief of insolvent debtors, 1858. Any person could petition a probate judge to assign the value of all his worldly goods to the benefit of his creditors. There followed the directions for the process, which was time-consuming and complex. This is one of the situations where lawyers' fees and court costs use up the value of the assets. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the Library of Congress).
