Commissioner to Survey Coosa River. Report, 1870
January 12, 1870 report of the Commissioner to survey the Coosa River and adjacent lands regarding the practicality of constructing a canal on the
west side of the river, commencing at the head of the Staircase Falls and terminating at some practical point on the Alabama River, submitted to the
Legislature. The survey also reported on the mineral deposits, including coal and iron ore. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held
by the Library of Congress).
