|
<1872> Salt Lake City Daily Tribune and Utah Mining Gazette. According to the Utah History Encyclopedia (https://www.uen.org/utah_history_encyclopedia/s/SALT_LAKE_TRIBUNE.shtml)m the newspaper began as the result of a movement to oppose the political and economic policies of the Mormon Church, although under a different banner (Mormon Tribune). The name changed and in 1871 the paper became the Salt Lake Daily Tribune and Utah Mining Gazette. The name soon changed to the Salt Lake Tribune.
