1841, Resolutions of South Carolina [Va. doc.]
1841 South Carolina reports and resolutions which where sent to the Virginia General Assembly. Included was an act "to prevent persons from New York
from carrying slaves out of the state", a result of the fugitive slave conflict between Virginia and New York, as well as subsequent correspondence
from the South Carolina governor which indicated that the law would be suspended if the fugitives were returned. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of
