1860, Declaration of causes for S. Carolina's secession
The declaration of immediate causes which induced and justify the secession of South Carolina from the federal union, and the ordinance of secession,
printed in Charleston in 1860. This document listed the justifications regarding the state's decision to secede, including the violation of the
constitution regarding state's rights, and the anti-slavery laws that violated those rights. The ordinance of secession was also included in this
document. See LLMC #21134-41 for related documents. (Digitized from a microfilm copy of title originally held by the New York Public Library).
