1860-61, Convention. Journal of public proceedings
A journal of the public proceedings of the Convention of the People of South Carolina, held in 1860-61, together with the ordinance adopted by the
state. Five hundred copies of this document, by order of the convention were published in pamphlet form, to be used as the president of the convention
determined. This document contained the determination of secession by the state, as well as the ordinance to support same; correspondence between the
state commissioners and the president of the United States; illustrations of Fort Jackson and St. Philip, as well as those of Jefferson Davis and
Alexander Stephens, president and vice-president of the Confederacy, respectively. See LLMC #21134-41 for related documents. (Digitized from a
