General Assembly. Comm. to Examine the Board of Public Works' Vouchers. Report, 1842
Doc. No. 12 Report. [Ohio] Three men were appointed to investigate the accounts of the Board of Public Works. The men did not have subpoena power
and were uncertain of their authority. They listed the agencies that helped them in their work. They wanted to compare the books of the Canal Fund
and the Board of Public Works, but the Canal Fund refused to cooperate. The contract accounts balanced, but one person's accounts did not. He did
not cooperate, either. Pages 14-66 was a dreary list of accounts that fulfilled the requirements of the investigation.
